Some of the best Vietnamese in Memphis. Great food and a nice environment. This mom and pop shop is ran by a Vietnamese family from Vietnam. They make everything from scratch so getting your food is a slow process, but it is well worth the wait, typically 45 min to an hour.I haven't had their Pho, but I hear it is spectacular. Next time I go I will giving it a shot.
38 years of delicious and truly authentic Vietnamese food. This place is a must!
This is a family owned business and their services are great.
Even though they are a small family business and sometimes the speed can be a little bit slow, but their food is just so delicious and the quality has been consistent over the years.
I have been coming here for quite a while now. I love the food and the family that owns this place are great people that always take care of everyone. Also my Wife is from Vietnam and says this is by far the best Pho place we have found in Memphis. If you have not tried this place you should be on your way. Like now.
Amazing delicious food. Best Vietnamese food I’ve ever had. Wonderful host. Great portion sizes!
Great authentic food. The place is small and it does take a while to get your food because it's made to order
A great place to eat, I highly recommend the lemon grass tofu. It might take a little longer than most places, but the food is well worth the wait.
Lotus is the most authentic Vietnamese restaurant in Memphis. It is unbelievable! Everything is made from scratch, so please have patience and do not be in a hurry if you are going to eat here. It is the best kept secret in town. Bring your own wine if you like, but they do have bottled beers if that is your thing. Words can't describe how amazing the food is. The lemongrass beef is my go to. The curry is amazing as well, and don't forget about the summer rolls. Bahn Xeo is my favorite appetizer on the menu. I've actually had everything on the menu and have never been disappointed.
Best pho in Memphis. It is not fast, but very good.
Amazing food. Service is slow, so bring a book or be ready to keep a conversation going for awhile. The incredible food is worth the wait.
AMAZING!!! Omg!!
Extremely flavorful dishes. Great for carry out or dine-in with a nice, very friendly staff. I highly recommend this restaurant.
One of the absolute best restaurants in Memphis. This is one of those magical little spots of the likes that Anthony Bourdain would visit. Anyone who thinks otherwise doesn't know good food. Expect to wait a lot. Expect slowish service. Expect incredible food cooked to order.
Amazing food!
Pho was ok; the quality of the beef was actually good. But the food is not authentic. But it's a good mom-and-pop restaurant. Owners were nice.
It's real food cooked with love and passion. You can't get better than that and they cook the bone broth for 100 hours. That way it has all the marrow and nutrition in the broth. The people working there were very friendly and the owner was so nice. Best bone broth in memphis and there isn't much to choose from for real homemade bone broth ;) and they cook theirs the longest, I've done the research.
Excellent food, take a bottle of wine and relax, it's a small mom & pop restaurant, so sit back and enjoy the dining experience; not fast food or fast service. Well worth it.
Great place to have a nice intimate dinner. Great food and friendly service.
YOU HAVE TO EAT HERE. This was the best experience I had while on my trip in Memphis. The food was delicious, the atmosphere is so cozy and Han was the kindest most amazing server ever! We had a great conversation with him and had an overall incredible experience.
I ordered a to-go order because of Covid-19. The gentleman was very cautious and was masked. He came to my car and delivered the food to me! The food was excellent. I definitely will spend my money here again! What a treat 😊
Wow, great food and service!
Very pleasant service, family oriented and run. They care about their customers, and you can taste the difference in their meals. Quality is amazing, best in town. The wait is worth the experience, so relax and enjoy a nice conversation and appetizer. The pho broth takes days to prepare, and the result is unbelievable. Hands down the best Vietnamese experience in town!
Discovered this restaurant when googling places too eat. This place deserves its high star rating! Amazing food and great staff. As other people have noted, it is a wait, so sit back and relax. We tried the butter beef, lemongrass tofu, chicken lo mein, and pan fried noodles. Big portions!
Loved the food, the owner is great!!
This place is awesome as always. The food the vibe. Try hot n sour soup and garlic with the shrimp
The best pho in Memphis. The secret is the broth that they cook for over 72 hours.
Food is always delicious.
Food is great. Service is slow.
This place may look old but the food is so so good. The owner is very friendly too. I had the biggest bowl of they had and it was delicious...
Best In Town..Saigon Style food. Poor Joe works virtually alone in the kitchen so the service can be a little slow but the food is the best in town. This not your average Pho restaurant. The French influence on Saigon styling cooking is readily apparent in all the variety of wonderful sauces the dishes are prepared in. I've been eating here for 30 years, I'm never disappointed.
I have been enjoying the delicious menu items at Lotus for about 20 years now. There is no better, fresher, love in it, Vietnamese food in Memphis. Granted, the service is not the greatest because everything is cooked to order, and you get what you wait for. Joe and his wife are wonderful, and I have watched his kids grow up, watching TV and doing their homework in the corner of the restaurant. Nonetheless, the food is the prize of this place. The lemongrass shrimp, shrimp in lobster sauce, Vietnamese vermicelli, combination fried noodle, and the egg rolls are to die for. If you have not tried Lotus, you are doing yourself a huge disservice. Go, wait, enjoy!
One of the best restaurants in Memphis plain and simple
I don't eat much Asian food but this was the restaurant of choice for our supper club this month. I had the chicken with fried rice and it was great. Next time I'll get the chicken with vegetables because it cones with rice.
Their food is very good, they take a bit long to serve because it's done just before it's served and the service is very personalized. They remember you the next time you are there and you can call them in advance to order and they know who you are. We haven't received that kind of attention at any other restaurant.
Never been disappointed with my food in all the years I have been going there. It takes a little time to get the food but you Know it is freshly prepared!
Awesome atmosphere and the banh xiao is the best I've tasted anywhere...top off whatever you eat with Jasmine tea and the experience is totally Zen.
Food was good but I personally didn't like the interaction of the old guy. He was forcing us to order some specific menu which was already cooked in his kitchen.
When you first walk in you notice how small the dinning room is. I find it cozy. Once seated you go through the single page menu. Appetizers, soups, main course, and desserts. Every single piece of food is freshly made. Nothing is quick made so it does take a bit, however it gives you time to talk to your table mates and the family who own and operate this quaint and kitschy establishment. Once you have experienced this restaurant and it's gorgeous food you will agree that this is the best Vietnamese food you have or ever will have without actually visiting Vietnam.
Delicious food, only a couple of tables, and it takes a while, but worth it.
Make sure you order family style. Each entree can feed around two people, and spare plates are brought out with the dishes. Service is slow, even on a Saturday night. It took about two hours to serve our party of nine. The food was well worth the wait though. If you're vegetarian, be sure to specify no meat beforehand, as even innocuous dishes contain meat.
It looks a little scary from the outside but the inside is nice. The food is really good. They get the definition of spicy right so be careful.
Man the best Vietnamese food in Memphis. The owners are awesome people and the food is always good. Get the lotus soup if sick it's like medicine
This is a must go place! I had an amazing experience. The service is phenomenal, and the food was even better. Great relaxing restaurant, hidden gem of Memphis
Very good, everything made to order and fresh. Definitely will go back.
I've been going to Lotus since the 80s and when I was in town recently it was my number one restaurant that I had to get some food from. Sadly we could only get takeout but it was just as wonderful as I remembered. some of the things I ordered weren't even on their new menu but because I knew them they were made anyway which I thought was wonderful. This place is always such a gem and despite my love of barbecue this is a spot I've got to hit on every trip.
So far waiting 45 mins for summer rolls and soup. The 1 person who we have seen working disappears for 10 mins then comes out of kitchen. An unusual place for sure and not in a good way. After 1 hour we left. Other tables that were seated ahead of us were still waiting on food. Not sure I can give it zero stars.
Do not let the outside look of the building deter you! This is one of the most authentic vietnamese places i've ever been to! Great tasting food! Only thing is careful when ordering plain "hot tea" its $2.50 per person!
It's just a family who works here. So the wait is long (call in advance to shorten the wait) but it is AMAZING food. One of the best in Memphis
